There can be no freedom OF religion WITHOUT freedom FROM government promoted religion.

The Pledge of Allegiance is a national symbol, and as such allclearly a promotion of a specific religious belief. These words, added by Congress in 1954, are in violation of the First Amendment - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." Americans should be able to freely participate in reciting it, especially students in public schools. However, the words "under God" are here to learn more.
